About X-rays

Dental X-rays need to be taken regularly to detect any incipient caries that might be present between the contacts of the adjacent teeth. We refere to this type of xray as a bite wing xray. Less frequently a penoremic xray is needed to give us an overall picture of the jaws and teeth. It allows us to detect any cysts that may be developing in the jaws and around the roots of the teeth. A periapical xray allows us to evaluate the areas of the teeth.
